VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA The
capital of Axarquia is this town with
Moslim origins, where the citadel and
citywall are keeped. from their churchs,
all of them old mosques, the most important
is Santia Maria la Mayor church. Also,
Velez Malaga offers to its visitors
many palaces, convents and choices
to enjoy "tapas".
TORROX This town is divided in 2 different
sides, one inland and the other by the coast line. We
recommend you to visit the first one and visit the sugar
factory and walk around its narrow streets.
The second one by the coast is as many others full of appartments and beaches,
but there is a surprise, the archeologhical place of Faro, where there are
a necropolis, thermae and a Roman village.
FRIGILIANA Nice town, up on a hill
overlooking to the Mediterranean sea and well known because
its whiteness, thanks to the inhabitants who paint their
houses few times a year. Here the moslims left their
prints as you may see in the narrow streets in the Barrio
Alto (High Quarter).
SALARES The views of this town from
the way is coming from Sedella are gorgeous. Their houses
has remainings from the Arab culture and there are near
by a ravine.
SEDELLA It is other town will make
you feel as if you were in a small town in the north
of Africa. Narrow streets, white houses and a medieval
tower with moorish decoration.
ARCHEZ Charming town in la Axarquia
with many narrow streets configured as a laberinth. Its
church which has been declared has National Monument,
crowned by a beautiful tower. It is also a heritage from
the arabs.
ALFARNA-TEJO This town is located 900
meters high from the sea level and surrounded. It is
considered has one of the highest from the county. Just
the castle ruins has been keeped from its past times.
CÓMPETA Good example of popular
architecture, built on a hill and gorgeous landscape
from Sierra Almijara, which was declared Natural park.
