Rural
hotel located in Lecrin Valley,
a quite place in Andalusia.
Inside Sierra Nevada Natural Park, within easy access of the sights of Granada
and the beaches of the Costa Tropical, is also the ideal location for a more
active holiday.
The pristine white villages of the nearby Alpujarras region are set in some
of Europe's most attractive walking country and the Sierra Nevada mountains
are simply one of the world's most beautiful and unspoilt adventure playgrounds.
There are 16 well appointed and spacious suites in total. They are spread out
around the grounds (7 in the main mill building, 4 in the old 'Store House'
and 5 in the tastefully converted stables) so each has wide space, unobstructed
views and privacy. Most of the suites have their own terrace and all have wood-burning
fireplaces for a cosy winter atmosphere.
Children are welcome - five of the rooms have sofa beds and cots are available
for babies and toddlers. Whenever possible, families and couples are put in
separate areas of the grounds to ensure everyone enjoys their space and privacy.
Meals are served either in the restaurant or, for families or groups, in the
old stone dining-room known as La Cueva (The Cave). The food - like the atmosphere
- is 'fine and country' and many of the ingredients are grown organically on
the homestead.
The traditional Moorish hammam steam-bath is accessible through an inner patio
and a latticed doorway offering total privacy. It is an ideal place for a soak
in the tub or simply as a quiet corner in which to relax and enjoy a glass
of mint tea. (Massages from a qualified masseuse can also be arranged).
The outdoor swimming pool and its terrace is an ideal place to
enjoy a late-afternoon sun-downer. There is also another large
covered terrace that offers shade for
reading during the day or for meals on summer evenings…either in conjunction
with the hotel kitchen or the barbecues in the garden.
A long soak in the Moorish hammam (steam-bath) followed by a
massage in the comfort of your own suite could be the perfect
finale to a peaceful afternoon,
relaxing under the shade of the olive trees…or to a long, active day
exploring the Andalusian countryside.
