This hotel is an old castle catalogued as a national monument in 1931. This ancient fortress is built on the live sandstone typical of the Salamanca region. The very first news about the construction of the Castle is coming back until the remote A.D. 1227. This magnificent fortress belonged to the Duke of Alba and has been donated to the Catholic King Ferdinand I and Isabel during the Spain unity war. Later, it was sold to the Fonseca family.

The Castillo is not really a hotel but features 41 guestrooms, private lounges and meeting rooms, which are equipped with all comfort you know from normal hotels. Some of the rooms of the Historic spot are located under the turrets domes and the others under the ceilings with original beans within a primitive enclosure of the castle, recreating the knightly, military and Renaissance atmosphere. If you are interested in history, you will definitely enjoy your accomodation at the Castillo de Buen Amor.
