On an astonishing balcony 650 metres high, sits this hotel. At its feet, Tolox, a village so white it looks like a film set. Clear days reveal in the distance the snowed summits of Sierra Nevada. Around it, mountains, rivers, Spanish firs..., wild nature, a feast for each of our five senses.

Tolox is located in the heart of Sierra de las Nieves, a natural park catalogued by the Unesco as Biosphere Reserve, endowed with rivers and streams that flow all year round, where Spanish firs woods still live on, an extensive population of wild goats, roe bucks, foxes and more. The Torrecilla peak, 1,919 metres high (there are different paths to get to the summit) is the highest summit in the range of mountains (Sierra), if the visitor comes in the winter, he will find it snowed.

There are 18 spacious rooms in the hotel, all of them with views, 16 of them with exterior balconies; the other two are on the ground floor (one of them suitable for disabled people), and all of them are equipped with bathroom, minibar, central heating, ceiling fan and TV. A library and leaving room, with a fireplace and exterior windows, allow the guest to abandon himself to reading or simple mediation in case of cold weather or rain. The restaurant, also with a fireplace, has capacity for 40 people.

Activities:
Walks: To help you to get to know Sierra de las Nieves in depth, we offer organized walks from the hotel. These walks are guided by a specialist that will safely take you to amazing spots hidden in the mountains. The time these walks last vary from 3 hours to a whole day. There is a minimum requirement of 6 people and the price for the shortest walk is 10 euros per person.

4 x 4 Excursions: 4 x 4 excursions from Cerro de Hijar Hotel will take you through different tracks running through the natural park Sierra de las Nieves in convertible vehicles. The drivers are all true experts on the area.

There are many tracks to choose from, depending on what you would like to see: Spanish fir woods, chestnut tree woods, points of difficult access, the best views, crossing rivers or descend gullies. Vehicles can accommodate up to 6 people including the driver. The excursions take from 4 hours to all day.

Fuente Amargosa Spa: The importance of Tolox's water can be experienced in one of the biggest spas in the province, Fuente Amargosa Spa, opened in 1870. Only a year after its inauguration, its waters were declared of public profit. The building that currently hosts the spa was built in 1906. In 1931 an upper floor was added. Only a few metres from the spa we find the spa hotel, a simple yet functional building from 1900.

This spa is the only one in Europe where the most important component, above its waters, are its gases capable of giving spectacular results: healing asthmas, bronchitis, chronic colds, conjunctivitis, cystitis and other diseases. The spa opens from the 1st of June and closes on the 15th of October.

Cooking courses, and active nature courses: These courses take place in the hotel for groups of 5 people minimum. They require booking in advance.

Horse rides (from El Burgo): Discover and enjoy the beauty of nature on a horse ride starting from the environmental complex of La Rejertilla (El Burgo). We will do the booking for you. The price is 12 € an hour (including the guide). 2 persons minimum.
